Occupancy Load

The Bureau can determine how many people can safely inhibit a space.

Occupancy load refers to the number of people permitted in a building at one time based on the building's floor space and function. The International Standards of Practice for Inspecting Commercial Properties defines occupancy load as the number of people permitted in a building based on the means of egress.

The McHenry Township Fire Protection District calculates Occupant Loads on all Assembly types within the fire district.
