Our Fire Stations
The McHenry Township Fire Protection District (MTFPD) is a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation responding out of 4 stations. Each Station is staffed by Paid on Premise personnel that sign up for 12 hour shifts and are required to work a specific number of shifts per month. Each station has various numbers of personnel, ambulances and fire equipment based on call volume and need.

Statistics
MTFPD is Located approximately 60 miles Northwest of Chicago in the Northeastern portion of McHenry County. MTFPD is comprised of 7 different Villages and Cities and protects 56 square miles and approximately 65,000 year-around residents.

We receive around 5,000 emergency calls a year for:
  • Fires
  • Emergency Medical Services
  • Ice and water rescues
  • Missing person searches
  • Overdoses
  • Hazardous Materials Response
  • Trench rescues
  • Vehicle accidents and much more
Personnel
Our personnel are made up of both career and non-career firefighters, paramedics and EMT's. MTFPD strives to provide top notch training to all personnel to keep them sharp in all the areas in which we provide service.
